The story behind De Kooktas

De Kooktas is an initiative developed by Raheena Doekhie. When Raheena became a mother herself, she became familiar with the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy. A new world opened up for her. A world in which she would like to use her knowledge and skills. She earned her AMI-diploma and became a Montessori teacher for children between 0-6 years of age. 

 

Raheena enjoys working with parents, caregivers, and educators who are assisting children in their development and growth. Her goal is to see them flourish together. And that is why she created De Kooktas.

About Raheena

 

Raheena was born and raised in Paramaribo, Suriname. After completing her secondary education, she moved to the Netherlands. A few years later, she got her Master’s of Water Management degree at the Delft University of Technology. After an enormous career switch, she arrived at her current educational endeavor, which she doesn’t regret to this day.
